Summer Vacation Begins! What To See at The Cinema?

Many children under high school age begin their summer vacation today! The travel and entertainment industries are in the midst of the vacation sales season. The movie industry also releases blockbusters in time for the holidays.

Here are some movies that are currently in theaters:

How Do You Live
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning – Part One
Indiana Jones and the Dial of destiny
THE POPE’S EXORCIST
K.G.F: Chapter 1
Kaibutsu

How Do You Live

The only picture revealed (Copyright 2023 Studio Ghibli)

This is the latest movie by Hayao Miyazaki, the director of “My Neighbor Totoro” and “Spirited Away.” The fact that no information was made public before its release is its best quality. There was really no publicity at all. The producer of the movie said, “I always dislike doing the routine PR activities every time we make a film, which is to advertise it a lot and hope that as many people as possible will see it. That’s why I decided to do “nothing” this time. I think this will be a positive thing for the movie industry in this age of information overload.” As a result, the movie made $14.8 million in its first four days of release. This will be released in North America at the end of 2023. The official international title is THE BOY AND THE HERON. I, of course, went to see it on the opening day. What I would say is, “Enjoy the experience of going to see it in a situation you know nothing about”. This is very valuable now.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning – Part One

Tom Cruise was supposed to come to Japan for the premiere, but that was cancelled due to the strike. I am very sad about that.

THE POPE’S EXORCIST

The movie was unmarked domestically, but the producer, Jeff Katz, drew attention to it when he replied to the movie audience on Twitter in Japanese. A Japanese who received the reply said excitedly, “I was wondering who gave me the reply, but it’s the producer of ‘THE POPE’S EXORCIST’…Thank you!” This movie, which is not shown in many theaters, is currently ranked fourth among the most talked-about movies in Japan, along with Tom Cruise and Harrison Ford. The content is also highly rated.

K.G.F: Chapter 1

Until now, the only movies released in Japan were those from the United States and the United Kingdom (although more recently, Korean movies have also been imported). Finally! We now have a complete distribution channel for Indian movies with the huge success of Baahubali and RRR.

Kaibutsu

This won the Best Screenplay and Queer Palme awards at the Cannes Film Festival. Director Hirokazu Kore-eda, originally a documentary director, is known for his exposé of the emotions that people usually hide behind their facades. So, when I see his films, I feel agitated because it’s like I’m being shown something I tried to avoid. (This means well.)

Is this the generation of streaming services? No!! I still want to enjoy movies on the huge screen and loud volume in theaters!
